The Maison

Cut to one body

Maison21 is a made-to-measure and ready-to-wear menswear atelier in Markham, Greater Toronto.

We begin with cloth — wools from Vitale Barberis Canonico, Reda and Loro Piana, mills that have been weaving in Biella for more than a century. Each garment is built on canvas and, for made-to-measure, cut to one client's measurements and refined across fittings until the drape is clean.

There is no rack of compromises here. A suit, a shirt, a coat — made for the person who will wear it, in the cloth they chose, at the pace good work requires.

Cut by hand

From first fitting to finished garment takes four to six weeks. We measure posture and proportion, choose cloth and canvas, and hand-finish the details that make a garment last.

Our Story

A tailoring house in Markham

Maison21 began a little over two years ago with a simple conviction: that a man should be able to own tailoring cut to his own body, in cloth worth keeping, without leaving Toronto.

From our atelier in Markham we make suits, shirts and coats to measure — alongside a considered ready-to-wear collection — in wools from the great Italian mills: Vitale Barberis Canonico, Reda, Zegna and Loro Piana. Every suit is built on canvas, in the classic tradition, so it holds its line for years.

We are not chasing trends. We believe in a clean shoulder, an honest drape, and garments made at the pace good work requires. That is the whole of it — and it is enough.
