Men's Suits in Toronto
Maison21 dresses men two ways from its Markham studio, serving Toronto and the GTA. The ready-to-wear range — suit jackets, formal trousers and knitwear, the jackets on a canvas — is cut from premier Italian mills and fitted in person, with trouser hems finished to your measure; it can be worn the same week. For a suit built to your own pattern instead, our custom suits in Toronto programme begins at CAD $1,500, all customization included. This page is the short version of both — and how to tell which one you actually need. Video consultations bring the studio anywhere in the city.

Italian Suits in Toronto — Cut from the Mills That Define the Cloth
Not all Italian cloth is equal. The mills that have shaped tailoring for generations — Loro Piana, Zegna, Vitale Barberis Canonico — each weave a fabric with its own hand, weight and character, and at Maison21 you choose among them yourself at the consultation.
Loro Piana's fine wools drape softly and hold a clean line through a long day. Zegna balances resilience with a quiet sheen that reads from the boardroom to a formal evening. Vitale Barberis Canonico — weaving in the Biella wool district since 1663 — spans the full Italian range, from open summer weaves to structured business weights.
Every Maison21 suit cut from Italian cloth is built on full canvas: no fusing, no shortcuts, so the fabric moves the way Italian fabric is meant to. Book a consultation to handle the cloth and choose your mill, weight and colour in person.
Three-Piece Suits in Toronto — When the Waistcoat Changes Everything
A waistcoat is not decoration. It anchors the silhouette, closes the space a jacket leaves when it comes off, and gives a suit a coherence that reads across a room — which is why, for a wedding, a formal event, or a long day when the jacket won't stay on, the three-piece is the right choice.
At Maison21 a three-piece is built as one commission: jacket, waistcoat and trousers cut from the same cloth, fitted across the same sessions, finished to the same standard — the waistcoat back, the button choice and the fit across the chest all settled at the same consultation as the jacket.
The made-to-measure two-piece begins at CAD $1,500 with every customization included; adding a waistcoat moves it to three-piece pricing, confirmed with the maker at your consultation. With a roughly six-week turnaround, book eight to ten weeks before the event — ten to twelve in peak wedding season.
How Maison21 Compares to Other Toronto Suit Options
Toronto offers several routes to a suit, and they are not the same thing. Online made-to-measure services like Indochino have made custom suiting affordable and easy to order — a reasonable entry point if price and convenience come first. Ready-to-wear houses like Suitsupply are well made for the money and quick from stock, if an off-the-rack fit suits you. At the other end, a bespoke house drafts a pattern from scratch over months, at a price to match.
Maison21 sits deliberately in between: an individual pattern hand-cut in our Markham studio, multiple in-person fittings, full-canvas construction throughout, and cloth from Zegna, Loro Piana, Reda, Vitale Barberis Canonico and Holland & Sherry. The craft standard of bespoke, at made-to-measure pricing. Maison21 does not offer bespoke, and does not pretend to.

Common Questions
Do you serve downtown Toronto?
Yes — clients come from across Toronto and the GTA. The studio is at 7800 Woodbine Ave, Suite 103 in Markham, roughly thirty minutes from downtown via the DVP and Highway 404, and online consultations are available for anything that doesn't need a tape measure.
What does a suit cost at Maison21?
Made-to-measure begins at CAD $1,500 for a two-piece suit, with all customization and fittings included. Ready-to-wear is priced per garment in the studio.
What's the difference between your ready-to-wear and made-to-measure?
Ready-to-wear is cut to the house block and fitted to you in the studio. Made-to-measure starts from a pattern drafted to your own measurements and is built on full canvas — the garment takes your shape and holds it.
How long does made-to-measure take?
Approximately six weeks from final measurement.
What's the difference between made-to-measure and bespoke?
Made-to-measure starts from an existing pattern block adjusted to your measurements; bespoke starts from a pattern hand-drafted from scratch. In practice the distinction matters less than the quality of execution: Maison21's made-to-measure is hand-cut, built on full canvas, and refined over multiple fittings — the craftsmanship of bespoke at made-to-measure pricing. Maison21 does not offer bespoke.
What suit fabrics does Maison21 use?
Maison21 cuts from premier international mills including Zegna, Loro Piana, Reda, Vitale Barberis Canonico (VBC), and Holland & Sherry. Clients choose their cloth during the consultation, and the house has access to a broad range beyond these anchor mills.
How does Maison21 compare to Indochino?
Indochino has made custom suiting affordable and easy to order, largely online — a good starting point if price and convenience lead. Maison21 is a Markham atelier: every garment is hand-cut in studio, fitted in person over multiple appointments, and built on full canvas, in cloth from mills including Zegna, Loro Piana and Reda. The two suit different priorities — Indochino for entry price and speed, Maison21 for construction, fabric, and a fitting with the maker.
Where can I buy an Italian suit in Toronto?
Maison21 makes made-to-measure suits cut from Italian mills — Loro Piana, Zegna and Vitale Barberis Canonico among them — from its studio at 7800 Woodbine Ave, Suite 103 in Markham, serving Toronto and the GTA. You choose the cloth in hand at a private consultation, and the suit is built to your measurements on full canvas.
