Sustainability at Maison21 is not a label programme — it is the way a tailoring house has always worked when it intends its garments to outlive trends.

Made to order, not overmade

Most of what we make is made to measure — cut only after a client commissions it. Nothing is produced speculatively in volume, so nothing ends a season as landfill. Our ready-to-wear is bought in small, considered quantities and sold through the studio, fitted to the wearer before it leaves.

Cloth that lasts

We work in natural fibres from mills that have been weaving responsibly for generations — Vitale Barberis Canonico, Reda, Ermenegildo Zegna, Loro Piana, Holland & Sherry. Good wool, cut well, is worn for decades; that longevity is the most honest sustainability there is.

Built to be kept

Every jacket is built on a floating canvas — a construction that holds its shape for years and, unlike fused garments, can be let out, taken in and recut as bodies change. Complimentary alterations keep what we make in service, not in a drawer.

Considered by default

One studio, in-person fittings, garments that travel once — from the maker to you. We would rather make fewer things properly than many things twice. If you have questions about how a Maison21 garment is made, ask us — we enjoy the subject.
